History
This scholarship was established in 2020 by three friends who attended the University of South Carolina Upstate (USC Upstate). Our lives were changed not only through our life experiences at USC Upstate, but also because of our friendship, a friendship that has withstood the test of times. Through our friendship during college and post-college, our lives have been enriched, allowing each of us an opportunity to learn from the other. We have been fortunate to experience each other's personal, professional, and spiritual growth over the years. As it relates specifically to our professional growth, we credit our education experiences at USC Upstate for assisting in preparing each of us for our successful careers. As we have been able to have prosperous and fruitful lives, we were challenged with the desire to encourage others towards their dreams and aspirations. Additionally, we all understand the burden of student loans and how they attribute to the racial wealth gap. Our desire to assist others and help close the racial wealth gap resulted in the birth of the Forever Friends Scholarship, a nonprofit organization.

Vision
Our ultimate goal for the Forever Friends Scholarship is to evolve into an endowment scholarship which will cover tuition costs for at least one ethnic minority student per semester.
